If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions, please do not use this website.
1.2 – We reserve the right to revise these terms and conditions at any time by updating this section. You should check this page upon any returning visits to review the then current terms and conditions, because they are binding on you. Certain provisions of these terms and conditions may be overruled by expressly designated legal notices or terms located on particular pages of this website.
1.3 – These terms and this agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with English Law and industry custom and practice, and English and Welsh courts shall have sole jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising there from.
1.4 – Where Van Extras is mentioned, this refers to the trading name of Essex and East London Van Services Ltd, ourselves. Similarly, “we” refers to the company, Van Extras.
2.1 – This website contains material which is owned by and licensed to us. This material includes, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance, images and graphics. Reproduction is prohibited other than in accordance with the copyright notice, which forms part of these terms and conditions.
2.2 – All trademarks reproduced in this website which are not the property of, or licensed to, the operator are acknowledged on the website.
2.3 – Unauthorised use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offence.
2.4 – Links to third party websites with this site are provided solely for your convenience. If you use these links, you leave this website. As a policy, we do not review these third party websites and have no control or responsibility over their content or availability. If you decide to access any of the third party websites linked with this site, you do so entirely at your own risk. These sites may monitor cookies and express views in forums and we do not hold any responsibility for this.
3.1 – Due to listing thousands of products, we cannot guarantee that at the time of purchase an item has not been discontinued or is temporarily unavailable.
3.2 – In the unlikely event that a product is unavailable when you place your order, we shall contact you to arrange replacement, or another acceptable arrangement for the completion of your order. We reserve the right not to accept any order.
3.3 Bull Bars – We comply fully with all EU regulations on Bull Bars and as such some of our Bars may not be available in your territory. This is beyond our control and is down to the legal compliance of manufacturer design.
4.1 – We will deliver the goods in accordance with your order usually within the stated delivery time but certainly within 5 working days. Please note that certain goods such as the Sortimo racking from the Van Extras range have a longer lead time stated. In the unlikely event that we do not make the goods available to you within 5 working days of accepting your order you will have the option of cancelling your order by notifying us accordingly prior to delivery. A valid signature will be required on collection or delivery and goods must be examined prior to signing, it is the customer’s responsibility to check for damage at this stage. If in the case of apparent damage, delivery should be refused and Van Extras should be notified immediately, to simply sign unchecked or damaged is not enough. In the unlikely event that you have not received all the goods within the stated delivery time, you must notify us immediately. You must not schedule or commence any installation or fitting until after you have received your order and checked all the goods for any defects or missing parts.
4.2 – In the rare event that there is a delay to a delivery caused by the failure of a third party supplier, Van Extras cannot be held responsible. However, we will offer the option of a full refund should the need arise.
4.3 – For reasons of health and safety and to avoid any property damage, most of our larger items (for example, roof rack modules) can only be delivered to the exterior of a ground floor location at the delivery address. You must therefore make your own arrangements at your own risk if the relevant item needs to be transported from the delivery location. We will not provide any unpacking, installation or fitting services upon delivery.
4.4 – You must do all that you reasonably can to provide any instructions to facilitate and enable delivery to take place at the given time and place. If you delay delivery, or delivery fails because you have not taken appropriate steps, we will try to arrange for an alternative delivery date within 3 working days of the failed delivery. If delivery fails as a result of circumstances within your reasonable control, the cost of any re-delivery shall be borne by you. If we are unable to arrange a date for re-delivery we may cancel your order and refund to you the price that you have paid for the goods, less the failed delivery costs.
4.5 – Please note we do not offer shipping abroad, if you place an order requesting delivery abroad your order will be cancelled and your card payment refunded. We deliver only to mainland Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and not Northern Ireland or any outlying islands. The standard delivery charge to the vast majority of locations on the British mainland is £8 (excluding the below). However with the vast majority of goods, delivery is free on orders over £50. Please contact us for current delivery prices for the following postcode areas in mainland Scotland as they may incur an additional charge (even for orders over £50): KW, IV, PA, PH and AB.
4.6 – Pre-10:30am or pre-12pm deliveries are available on many of our products if ordered before 2pm the previous day. However, this service incurs an additional fee and must be requested by the customer.
5. Prices and Payment
5.1 Prices – Where prices appear on the website, they are clearly marked as being either inclusive or exclusive of VAT. Total prices billed will include VAT and are clearly marked as so during the checkout process. The price will be broken down for the customer’s reference into the price before VAT (and delivery) along with showing the total price.
5.2 – Payment must be made in Pounds Sterling and will be debited from your account upon the successful dispatch of your goods.
5.3 Card Security – Card payment security is of the utmost importance to Van Extras during an online transaction. In reality an online transaction is probably more secure than a card transaction in a shop or conducted over the telephone or by fax, as the information transmitted online is highly encrypted using complicated logarithm combinations. The WorldPay payment system uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Furthermore, their public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring that both the client and firm can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.
5.4 Transaction Encryption – The transfer of the purchase details from our web site to WorldPay are encapsulated using their own encrypted and digitally-signed protocol. This uses a combination of standard methods such as PGP, RSA and MD5 to ensure that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof.
5.5 Security for the Shopper – Any communication between the client and WorldPay is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the client’s browser using TLS or 128 BitSSL. Clients are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a “card not present” environment, by their card issuers. The card issuers provide the right for the cardholder to dispute a transaction if the card was used fraudulently. Data Storage on WorldPay systems, and the communication between WorldPay and the worldwide banking networks, is regularly audited by the banking authorities to ensure a secure transaction environment. WorldPay also ensure that they stay up-to-date with the latest versions of any third-party code they use, and continually review their own proprietary code.
5.6 – The vast majority of the products on this site are sold on a supply only basis and unless otherwise stated, the price displayed is solely for supply of the goods. Therefore unless explicitly mentioned, PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE FITTING. This is because the vast majority of items are drop shipped directly. Some items will have a fitted price listed, but this will be made clear.
6. Returns and Faulty Goods – CONSUMER ONLY
6.1 – You may cancel your order altogether by giving us notice of cancellation at any point between placing the order and the delivery dispatch email being sent. Such notice may be given by phone, fax or email. Please notify us of the reason for your cancellation at the time of cancellation.
6.2 Returns – As the customer, you have a 14 day ‘cooling off’ period from the day you receive your goods. During this time if you have a change of heart, you may notify us that you wish to cancel your contract with us and a full refund will be given. However, the return delivery costs will be borne by you, the customer. Please note that for our range of bespoke services, we are unable to accept cancellations due to the customised nature of the modifications.
6.3 Faulty Goods – Any defect in the quality or condition of the product that means it fails to meet the specification shall be notified to Van Extras within a reasonable time frame and a full refund shall be given. However, please note in section 7.2 the circumstances under which we accept liability for defects. Many of our products are covered by a 12 month warranty from the manufacturer, so please do be sure to check this in addition.
6.4 Correspondence – All correspondence for returns, cancellations, complaints, disputes or queries should be addressed in writing to Van Extras. Van Extras have a complaints procedure in place where you will receive a response within 2 working days and your complaint will be documented and dealt with by a director.
7.1 Anti-theft devices – Any products sold as security devices or theft deterrents such as bulkheads and window grilles are as the name suggests simply deterrents. They cannot guarantee against theft or damage and no liability shall be incurred by Van Extras should this case arise. Reasonable and sensible steps should always be taken by the buyer to protect the vehicle and its contents. Any security devices are not designed to allow the buyer to take comfort in negligence and complacency.
7.2 Defects – Whilst Van Extras takes great pride and responsibility in the quality and condition of the supplied products’ materials and workmanship, we shall not be held liable for any defects in the quality or condition of the supplied products that arise due to an incorrect design or specification supplied by the buyer. Should the manufacturer’s instructions not be followed or the product misused in any way then Van Extras shall not be held liable for any defects. The buyer is not entitled to reject the product on the basis of a defect or fault that is so slight that it would be undeniably unreasonable to reject it.
7.3 Factors beyond our control – We shall have no liability to you for any failure or delay in supply or delivery or for any damage or defect to goods supplied or delivered hereunder that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to industrial disputes, civil unrest, fuel supply crises, natural disasters or other states of emergency).
7.4 Incorrect vehicle – Every effort has been taken to clearly specify which vehicles our products are suitable for. However should a customer make a mistake and order the wrong product our standard refund policy will apply. If the wrong product is ordered for a vehicle, this does not make it faulty or defective. As such, the return costs will be borne by the buyer and a refund must be requested within 7 working days.
7.5 Representative photographs – Every effort has been taken to ensure the actual product images are used where possible. However, with thousands of products listed, this is not always possible. As such, customers should be aware that many of our images are purely representative. Product design features, appearance, fixings and colours may vary so please use the item description as a guide rather than the image. If in any doubt, customers are always welcome to call us for clarification.
7.5 Fitting – The vast majority of the products on this website are sold as supply only. However, Van Extras cannot accept any responsibility for damage caused to the product, vehicle, other accessories, any tools, equipment, surroundings or belongings due to misguided fitting by the customer or an agent of the customer. Please do not attempt fitting of any product that is beyond your capability and experience. Instruction fittings may not always be supplied and if they are available, should be used as a guide only, not as a substitute for capability and experience. Furthermore, we cannot be held responsible for any personal injury during the fitting process or arising as a result of substandard fitting. Please note that Van Extras do provide a professional fitting service and if in any doubt, we strongly advise that you at least enquire about getting your product(s) professionally fitted as we are more than happy to provide this service with any product (charges may apply).
8.1 – Van Extras will not pass on any personal information to a third party with the sole exception of essential delivery information for suppliers and delivery partners which will be dealt with in a confidential manner and protected accordingly. Payment encryption is dealt with securely by WorldPay (as detailed above) and as such Van Extras does not store any of the buyer’s sensitive financial information.
